Mogo Mania Superflow – Rocky Trail MTB Race Recap
In July, Dan and I made the eight-hour trip north to Mogo, NSW, for the Rocky Trail Superflow “Mogo Mania” event. To break up the drive, we stayed overnight in Eden, riding some of the local trails the next morning before continuing to Batemans Bay, where we based ourselves in a cosy studio hut at the NRMA caravan park.
This was our first time riding at Mogo, so every trail was new. Race day one took place in the Trig section, with a mix of fast, technical singletrack and flowy runs. True to form, I managed to crash on my first sighting lap of the day. The incident added drama to an already hectic schedule, with the event medic suggesting I head to hospital for stitches. Instead, I decided to patch up and keep riding, while Dan picked up the camera to capture the action.
Despite the setback, I pushed through and completed a full run on each stage. Superflow events are all about consistency, but with this race stretched over two days, my injuries meant I couldn’t return to defend the fourth place I’d secured on the results sheet.
As with all my race videos, you’ll see highlights from the day alongside my fastest stage runs. To wrap things up, Dan and I explored one of the black trails for a bonus lap down Selleys—an intense finish to an already memorable day.
This video is the first of two covering Mogo Mania, and it captures both the challenges and the unique energy of racing a new venue for the very first time.
