Wrath of Menura is an intense Black Diamond trail at Mt Tumbarumba MTB Park, blending machine-built tech flow with rugged, backcountry natural terrain. Covering roughly 2.4 kilometres, this run is famous for its gnarly rock gardens, natural granite features, and demanding terrain.
Unlike some of the purely gravity-fed lines, Wrath of Menura makes you work for your descent. The trail features short, punchy climbs peppered between the rapid technical drops, meaning you need to stay active on the pedals and manage your momentum carefully. The highlight sections include tricky off-camber rock rolls and heavily armoured rock gardens that will test both your suspension setup and your line choice.
Because of its length and physical demands, this trail is an epic way to round out a massive pedal day on the mountain, especially when combined with a run down Last Frontier. However, riders need to be mindful of fatigue. Hitting these raw, unforgiving rock sections with tired legs and arms at the end of the day is a serious challenge, so ensure you have enough energy in the tank to maintain absolute focus.
An enduro bike is ideal for absorbing the square-edged rock hits, while fast-rolling tyres with robust casings are a must for surviving the sharp granite without suffering a pinch flat.
