Network and trail updates coming soon!
The previous network was anchored by Bitta This, Bitta That, the primary climbing artery that leads to the summit junction. From there, riders can access a variety of descents. For beginner flow, the combination of Tools Down into Milling Around is hard to beat. If you’re looking to get wheels off the ground, the lower section of Zinglefun offers a perfectly tiered jump line designed for safe, confident progression. Proceed with caution though as the trails can be narrow in parts which, when combined with confidence and speed can quickly become treacherous.
For more advanced riders, continue to follow Bitta This, Bitta That to the top and check out Fools Gold, Ripple Effect and Barefoot Wizard, a mix of green, blue and black trails respectively.
Warburton is located approximately 75km east of the Melbourne CBD, making it one of the most accessible world-class trail networks for metro-based riders.
The Route: The most direct route from the city is via the Eastern Freeway (M3), transitioning onto Maroondah Highway through Ringwood and Lilydale, and finally following the Warburton Highway (B380) through the Yarra Valley.
Estimated Drive Time From Melbourne CBD: Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
From Eastern Suburbs (e.g., Ringwood): Approximately 45 to 55 minutes.
Public Transport: For those looking for an alternative, the Lilydale Line train connects with the 683 bus service, which runs directly into the heart of the Warburton township.
Pro Tip: The drive through the Yarra Valley is scenic but can become busy on weekend mornings. Aim for an early start to beat the day-tripper traffic and secure the best parking near the trailheads.
Warburton offers several convenient access points depending on your planned route. The main trailside parking provides direct access to the lower trail terminuses and shuttle pickup zones. For those looking to start with a climb or enjoy the local amenities, additional parking is available within the township, just a short ride from the trailheads.
Uplift services are a key feature of the Warburton experience, allowing riders to maximise their descending time across the network.
Booking Requirements: Due to high demand, particularly following the launch of new trail stages, pre-booking online is highly recommended to guarantee a spot.
Pick-up Points: The primary shuttle loading zone is located within the main trailside hub, providing efficient access to the summit drop-off points.
