The Blindspot: The Ultimate Test of Skill and Speed at Mogo Trig
The Mogo Trig Point zone is renowned for its rowdier, gravity-focused descents, and The Blindspot perfectly embodies this spirit.
Rated Black Diamond, this trail is a serious undertaking, blending punishing old-school technicality with modern, fast-paced jump features. If you are looking to be tested, look no further than this 1.1 kilometre thrill ride. The trail is unique in how it forces you to adapt. It kicks off with a narrower trail tread compared to much of the network, immediately throwing up rocky, peppery corners and a steep, janky chute. You need exceptional trail-reading proficiency and commitment here, as strategically placed rocks and loose surfaces threaten to knock you offline. This section is a proper test of endurance for your hands and forearms. Just as the tech starts to become overwhelming, the trail suddenly opens up.
The Blindspot transforms from a demanding technical descent into a high-speed jump line, featuring beautifully sculpted berms and medium-sized hits. This change in pace demands a rapid mental shift, rewarding the rider who can transition seamlessly from rough precision to full-commitment airtime.
This is where the benefit of our Merida eONE-EIGHTY ebikes, supplied by Ride Mogo, became invaluable. Being able to easily climb the equivalent of an uplift trail back up to the Trig Point meant we could focus entirely on dialling in the complex lines of the upper tech section, then hitting the lower jumps with fresh legs and high speeds. The ability to session this difficult trail multiple times in a short window drastically improved our consistency.
If you crave gravity and are prepared for a trail that is as challenging as it is rewarding, make sure The Blindspot is top of your list. We extend our sincere thanks to Ride Mogo for the continued partnership.
