Back on the pedals after wrapping up the final round of the Victorian Gravity Enduro Series, I wasn’t planning to race again so soon. With only three races in the 2025 Rocky Trail Superflow calendar, I almost sat this one out—until Dan convinced me to jump in. Turned out to be a great call.

This round was hosted at Red Hill, a trail network known for its fast flow and raw terrain. The event featured three stages: Stan’s (Wombat trail), Lazer (Pins and Needles), and the Fox Stage (Fall Line). I started the day on Wombat but had a rough first lap. While still fresh, I hiked back up and gave it another shot, taking 8 seconds off my time—more than I’d hoped for.

My first run on Pins and Needles ended up being my best. I even managed to pass Dan mid-stage after he came off the bike near the top. With just four timed runs, I was surprised to find myself sitting in first place.

Fall Line proved trickier. I couldn’t get a clean run, only shaving off half a second between two laps. With time left in the day, I gave Wombat one more go and squeezed out another 0.5 seconds.

The event had limited chances to improve, which meant every decision and every pedal stroke mattered. Despite starting with doubts, Red Hill became my best result of the season—and a reminder that sometimes showing up is all it takes.
