Colonel Senders is a black-diamond gravity trail in Narooma’s Gravity Zone, built to challenge confident riders with technical terrain, line choice, and steeper gradients. While not the longest trail in the network, it packs a punch with its mix of flow and features, requiring focus and finesse from top to bottom.

This trail kicks off with a fast chute into a sequence of tight berms before throwing riders into a rhythm of rock gardens, step-downs, and side hits. Colonel Senders is less about huge air and more about technical movement—navigating rock rolls, sniper lines and tricky off-camber corners. Riders will be rewarded with a raw, engaging descent that flows best when ridden with precision.

It’s around 0.9 kilometres long with roughly 100 metres of elevation drop, making it ideal for repeat laps using Narooma’s uplift shuttle service. Expect a consistent gradient throughout with a few sharper pitches and plenty of features to keep you thinking.

What to expect:

  • Natural rock features and small drops

  • Tight turns and narrow tread in places

  • Fast sections broken up by line choice decisions

  • A more “technical flow” style compared to Chilli & Lime

  • Best suited for confident black-level riders

Colonel Senders can be ridden solo or as part of a Gravity Zone session linking into trails like Chilli & Lime, Lawler’s Drop, or Sir Wax-a-Lot. Conditions vary slightly with weather—dry days offer grippy corners, while wet conditions make the rocks especially challenging.

Rider suitability:

  • Experienced mountain bikers with strong technical skills

  • Not suited for beginners or intermediate riders without advanced trail awareness

  • A great step up from intermediate jump trails or smooth black flow lines
