This has been a season of firsts when it comes to racing. It all started with the King of Ballarat, my first ever downhill race that ended in disaster. I didn’t even make it through practice and it left me with a broken hand.
The second event I entered, and therefore also my first official race, was none other than the Red Hill National Enduro. That also came with a few issues. I bent my chainring on the second stage and then also crashed on the fourth. At least I finished that event and am glad to say it wasn’t last.
The third event was at Silvan MTB Park for the @RockyTrailMedia #Superflow. This didn’t go without incident either. The week leading up I caught the flu and had to take a few days off work. I hadn’t fully recovered on race day but decided to go for the bare minimum and complete each timed stage at least once.
