It’s 2024 and the first @RockyTrailMedia Superflow for the year was just held at Mount Buller. The season opened in the same way as it closed last year, with a double header event. Your choice of doing a day of shuttles, a day of pedalling or both.

I chose to do both and elected to shuttle on Saturday and pedal on Sunday. I’ve decided to split this event into two videos, one fore each day.

My decision to do both last year didn’t go so well. I crashed twice on the shuttle day leaving me with a suspected mild concussion. I chose not to ride the next day but hung around for the morning and headed home after lunch.

This weekend wasn’t without drama either. I smashed my chainring after just three laps. Luckily I was carrying a spare chainring because the bike shop in Mt Buller didn’t have one, nor did they have a tool to remove the broken one. Then on my last run of Copperhead I was confronted by three hikers in the middle the berm. Worried about hitting them I washed out the front and crashed. I decided to push back up and start my lap again. I don’t know what those hikers were thinking!

The day ended with a meal at the Kooroora Hotel and to watch Red Bull Hardline Tasmania. Rocky Trails were also showing Nothing’s for Free but I was too exhausted and went to sleep early so I would be well rested for the next day.
