I’m overdue in releasing this Rockytrails Superflow race recap. It’s been two month since I took part in the Red Hill Superflow but it’s been a busy few month. Not only leading up to this event, when I joined the other Trailhead Riders in Bright and surrounds for our own version of Pineapple Express, but also after.

We spent a three days riding at Mystic, Falls Creek and then back to Mystic. The weekend for me was followed on with a trip to Canberra for work. Although I’d planned to check out the local Canberra trails, I decided to drive to Eden instead and check out the new trails down there.

I returned home only the be struck down with a mild case of COVID but it was enough to disrupt my training routine and did sap some of my energy on race day. The climbs, as always, are brutal at Red Hill. Luckily I was joined by Dan, Roy and Reefy to keep me motivated and entertained. Not my best racing result but still a great day out riding with mates for their first event.

Shortly after Red Hill I headed to Adelaide for another work trip and have been playing catch up ever since.

Red Hill is a popular event with the locals so getting a good time was always going to be tough. Just how tough? You’ll have to watch the video to find out.
