Welcome to Sportilium +Plus |
MTB Creator Collective

I’d love to ride every trail in Australia, but I’ve got a day job and there are only so many hours in the week. That’s where Sportilium +Plus comes in.

Sportilium +Plus is a new extension of the Sportilium network, driven by riders like you. I’m looking for creators to capture high-quality, top-to-bottom runs of their local networks.

We use YouTube’s ‘Collaborator’ feature. This means the video lives on your channel, but appears to my audience as well. You keep the views, the subs, and the monetisation (if applicable). I get to add another great trail to the Sportilium map. It’s a plus for you, and a plus for the community.

What’s in it for you?

Exposure

Tap into the Sportilium audience (YouTube & Website).

Credibility

Growth

We provide SEO-optimised titles and descriptions to help your video rank.

The Vibe Check

What we’re looking for.

Quality First

We need stable, high-quality, high-resolution footage (4K preferred, 1080p minimum). Good audio is a must—wind noise is the enemy!

The Content

Top-to-bottom runs. No relentless stopping. Show the flow.

Tone

Keep it friendly. We love the stoke, but keep the swearing to a minimum and the vibe positive.

Format

You film it, you edit it. Feel free to add your own intro/outro to build your personal brand.

The dos

  • Shoot in 4K or 1080p (Landscape): High bitrate ensures the trail detail stays sharp and professional on the big screen.

  • Use a Chest Mount: This provides the best perspective, showing the handlebars and the trail ahead for a true “rider’s eye” view.

  • Check your Audio: Use a wind muff (deadcat) where possible. We want to hear the tyres and the hub, not the gale.

  • Keep the Flow: Aim for clean, top-to-bottom runs with minimal stopping. We want viewers to feel the full length of the trail.

The don'ts

  • No Vertical Video: This program is for the main Sportilium map and YouTube channel. Keep it widescreen!

  • No “Head-Only” POV: Helmet cams often angle too high, losing the bars and the sense of speed. Chest-mount is king.

  • No Heavy Music: Avoid loud tracks that drown out the trail. Keep music in the background or off entirely; people love the “raw” sound.

  • No Excessive Ego: Keep the focus on the trail and the network. Let the riding and the scenery do the talking.

The process

1. Film & Edit

Create your POV run.

2. Submit

Fill out the form below with an unlisted YouTube link.

3. Review

If I dig it, I’ll send you an email with the ‘Green Light.’

4. The polish

You send me 3 high-res screenshots (1920x1080px or higher). I will design a unified Sportilium +Plus thumbnail and send it back with your optimised Video Title and Description text.

5. Launch

You add the provided thumbnail and text, add the Sportilium Playlist to your end screen, and send the Collab invite.

6. Promote

I accept the invite, create a post on the Sportilium website, and we both start sharing the stoke.

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose my ad revenue?

Absolutely not. The video lives on your channel. You keep 100% of the views, subscribers, and (if applicable) ad revenue. We simply help drive more traffic to it through the Sportilium network.

Can I collaborate if I'm a small channel?

Yes! We care about the quality of the riding and the footage, not your subscriber count. Sportilium +Plus is specifically designed to help smaller creators get discovered by a larger audience.

What if I don't have design software for the thumbnail?

You don’t need it. Once your video is accepted, you send us 3 screenshots from the footage, and I will design the official Sportilium +Plus thumbnail for you to ensure it looks professional and on-brand.

Can I submit a trail that is already on the site?

You can, but we prioritise new trails or networks that aren’t mapped yet. If your version is significantly higher quality (e.g., 4K vs 1080p) or shows a different line/recent trail update, we’ll definitely consider it.

Do I have to use the Sportilium +Plus thumbnail?

Yes. The unified branding is what makes the +Plus network recognisable to our community. It signals that the footage has been vetted for quality and is an official part of the map.

How long does the review process take?

I try to review all submissions within 7 days. If your run gets the “Green Light,” I’ll be in touch via email to start the thumbnail and launch process.

What gets the Green Light?

Unmapped Trails

We prioritise trails and networks not yet featured on the Sportilium map.

Quality Upgrades

If we have the trail, your footage needs to be newer or a major quality ‘upgrade.’

New Openings

Be the first to document new trail builds or major network revamps.

4K & Stability

High bitrate 4K and stable chest-mount footage always go to the front.

The Sportilium +Plus Collaboration Agreement

By clicking "Submit", you agree to the following terms. We keep it simple because we want to ride, not wrestle with lawyers, but we need to be on the same page.

1. The Selection Process (No Guarantees)

Submission does not guarantee a feature. Sportilium +Plus is a curated collection. I review every video for quality, stability, flow, and safety. I prioritise trails and networks that are not currently covered on Sportilium.com. If your video isn't selected, don't take it personally—it might just be that the trail is already well-covered or the footage didn't quite hit the technical mark this time.

2. Ownership & Revenue

You retain 100% ownership of your footage and your YouTube channel.

  • Revenue: You keep all ad revenue generated by views on your channel.
  • Copyright: You confirm that you filmed the footage yourself and possess all necessary rights (including music licences).

3. What You Grant Sportilium

By submitting your video, you grant Sportilium a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:

  • Embed your YouTube video on Sportilium.com.
  • Use screenshots/stills from your video to create the Sportilium +Plus branded thumbnail.
  • Use clips or stills from your video to promote the collaboration on Instagram, Facebook, and other social channels (always crediting you).

4. The Thumbnail & Branding Rule

If accepted, you agree to update your video’s thumbnail to the specific Sportilium +Plus design provided by me.

  • This thumbnail must remain on the video for as long as you wish to be part of the Sportilium +Plus network.
  • You agree to include the provided SEO description snippet and the Sportilium Playlist in your video end screen.
  • Note: Changing the thumbnail or removing the links post-launch will result in the removal of your collaboration status and website feature.

5. Safety & Liability

Mountain biking is dangerous. You acknowledge that you are filming and riding at your own risk. Sportilium takes no responsibility for any injury, damage to gear, or legal issues (trespassing, etc.) that occur during the creation of your content. Please ride within your limits and respect trail grades.

6. Revocation

Sportilium reserves the right to remove a collaboration, delete the website post, and rescind the "Collab" tag on YouTube at any time, particularly if the video content is later altered, or if the creator’s conduct does not align with the friendly, inclusive values of the Sportilium community.

Let’s Build the Map Together

Sportilium +Plus isn’t just a video gallery—it’s a community-driven project to map the best of Australian MTB. Whether you’re a seasoned filmmaker or just starting out with a GoPro, I’m stoked to see your perspective on the trails.

By joining the +Plus collective, you’re helping more riders discover the tracks we love while getting your own channel in front of a dedicated audience. Let’s create content that gets people off their screens and onto the dirt.
