Bottlecaps is widely considered one of the most technical and challenging trails at Silvan MTB Park. From the steep drop-in off Inverness Road to nerve-wracking rolls and drops, it offers non-stop action. Sketchy corners, slippery roots, and tight gaps make for a thrilling ride, especially when damp. The trail features cable-tied gap jumps, a gnarly rock garden, and raw terrain that tests even seasoned riders.

On this day, I wanted to take my time tackling the trail, sessioning its bigger features. My first run brought an encounter with the same #trailfairies who had maintained it during my earlier visits. Be sure to check out their work in my Slips and Sticks video. They even captured my ride through the notorious rock garden section.

For easier access, I recommend climbing via Inverness Road from the mid-way car park. You could also self-shuttle from Mt. Evelyn oval.

After meeting another rider, Chris, at the top, I offered some advice for navigating Bottlecaps on his first try. Once confident, I returned for a full POV run, integrating the sessioned jumps to create a smoother flow. I also experimented with a vlog-style intro, so let me know what you think in the comments! Enjoy!
