Alice in Wanderaland: The Flow Trail That Changed My Ride

Our visit to the Mogo Trails began with one of the most highly-rated blue descents in the network: Alice in Wanderaland. This trail is perfectly named, taking you on a whimsical journey that twists through dreamy, lush bushland, with a design that feels both playful and epic. It’s the ideal start to any mountain biking trip in the area, being an intermediate, downhill-only flow trail packed with Mogo’s trademark sculpted berms and fun, rollable jumps.

For us, however, the day began with a climb. The opening sequence of our video highlights the powerful start as we immediately tackled an ascent after collecting our Merida eONE-EIGHTYs. This is where the e-bike proved its worth immediately. Having recently suffered with back problems, the thought of strenuous uphill pedalling was a major concern for the trip. The electric assistance removed this entirely, allowing me to conquer the necessary climb effortlessly. The e-bike truly took the strain out of the journey, transforming what could have been a painful start into a relaxing experience where I could simply focus on the trail ahead and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Once we reached the start of the descent, Alice in Wanderaland delivered on its promise of flow. The 1.9 kilometres of single track seemed to fly by, with every berm encouraging more speed and every small jump begging to be hit again. The sensation of speed through the twisting path, surrounded by the dense forest, is exhilarating, making the trail feel much longer than it actually is. It is an expertly built trail that allows riders of all intermediate abilities to feel like absolute shredders, providing that immediate flow gratification that the Mogo network is renowned for. This first run of the day, fully powered and pain-free, solidified our decision to ride ebikes for the series.

A huge thank you must go to Ride Mogo for providing us with the fantastic ebikes at no charge for this trail series. Their support helped make this trip possible!
